Chalky’s 5th Birthday Party

Friday 25th October 2024

Today we celebrated Chalky the church mouse’s 5th Birthday. The children made a list of jobs that needed to be done to prepare for the party:

wrap presents

make birthday cards/banners

make party food

We had a wonderful time playing traditional party games like pass the parcel and musical chairs.

NSPCC Number Day 2025

Maths

We joined thousands of other schools and nurseries to take part in a fun-filled session of maths!

Number Day is an inclusive maths-inspired fundraising day for children in nursery right through to secondary school, with activities suitable for all ages and abilities. Number Day was particularly special this year as it was 25 years of Number Day!

Reception Nativity 2024

WOW…what an amazing Nativity!

The children told the story of the first Christmas through the eyes of the animals that Jesus shared a barn with.

Reception Welcome Service 2024

We had a wonderful time welcoming our new families to Church of the Ascension Primary School. Father Chris led the service and talked about the children being ‘the light of the future’. Accompanied by their grown up, the children were invited to receive a gift, light a candle and hang a portrait on a special tree. This will remain in church as a reminder for the congregation to hold the children in their thoughts and prayers.
