Open Days

If you have a child due to start school in September 2027, we are holding a number of school tours for anyone who would like to come and have a look at what we do!

We are very excited to show you around our lovely school and have tours available on the following days and times:

Monday 5th October at 1:30pm

Thursday 8th October at 9:30am

Friday 9th October at 9:30am

Monday 12th October at 1:30pm

Tuesday 13th October at 9:30am

Thursday 15th October at 9:30am

If you would like to book one of our school tours or have any other questions please contact our school office on 01384 818760. If none of these dates are suitable, give us a call and we will do our best to arrange an alternative.

The School Shop is now available to purchase school uniform on Arbor.

Items ordered will be sent home with your child as soon as we are able to.

School Menus

Please see below the menu options for school lunches:

There will also be ‘theme days’ throughout the year when there will be a special menu on a particular day. We will let you know about these on the weekly school newsletter.

Menus will also be available to view in the Parents’ Area on the school website on the ‘Meal Payment and Menu’ page.

All meals now need to be booked through Arbor. Please see the link on how to book Meal Menu choices on the Parent Portal or Parent App – Arbor Help Centre

If you have still not received login details for Arbor, please email the Admin Team on info@chur-ascen.edlt.org.uk and they will resend log in details for you. Please note that we have found emails sent from Arbor often go into the junk/spam/clutter.

For children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) meals do need to be paid for and the cost is currently £2.65 per meal. Meals are also paid for in Arbor by ‘topping-up’ a meal account. If you have any difficulty with this, please contact the school office.

School Photographer

The photographer will be in school on Tuesday 15th September to take individual school photographs.

If you would like to have a photograph taken of your child/ren with younger siblings who don’t yet attend school, please come to the school office at 8:15am. Please note, due to time restrictions, there may be limited opportunities for these photographs but we will accommodate wherever possible.

Children in Class 4H – please be at school for 8:30am on Tuesday 15th September, with any siblings who also attend our school, so you can have your photograph taken before going swimming. When you arrive at school, please go to the Key Stage 2 door where Mrs Hudson will let you in and go straight to your classroom with your sibling. You will then be taken down to the hall. Siblings can then remain in the school hall and a member of school staff will ensure they are taken to their classrooms.

Sports Day Years 4 – 6

Our rearranged Sports Day for children in Years 4 to 6 will take place on Friday 25th September at 9:30am on the school field.

Parents/carers are welcome to bring a folding chair to sit on as there is no seating available.

Can children please bring a t-shirt in their house colours to wear on the day.

Titanic – Green

Crystal – Blue

Sunbeam – Yellow

Lion – Red

PLEASE NOTE – THIS IS ONLY FOR CHILDREN IN CURRENT YEARS 4, 5 AND 6 AS THEY WERE UNABLE TO HOLD THEIRS IN THE SUMMER.

Spare Uniform

We would like to thank everyone who has donated spare uniform for us to use. We have organised all of our uniform now and have found that we are short on just a few items.

If anyone has any of the following that they no longer need, we would be grateful for donations:

Girls skirts, girls trousers and boys trousers in ages ranging from 8 years to 12 years.

PE kits – black shorts & white t-shirts.

These are the only items we now require. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to store any other uniform at this time.
