5/6M Book Club

This week, our theme for Book Club is picture books. We enjoyed sharing a variety of picture books with each other and talked about how picture books can be for everyone, including some of the more sophisticated ones where the reader also becomes the author, telling their own unique story, using the pictures.  We’ll continue to share these books for the next few days.  The children are also welcome to bring in their own picture books to share if they wish.

DPA Harmony 2026

On Thursday afternoon, the whole school took part in DPA’s annual Harmony event for Children’s Mental Health Week. We joined with over 300 schools across the West Midlands to sing and promote wellbeing. This involved singing the ‘Connecting Together’ song along with sign language, as well as some popular classics. We also learnt about the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’.

Worship Leaders participate in St.James’s Unity Service

We’re so proud of our Worship Leaders, who represented our school so well at St James’s Unity Service.  The theme was ‘Gratitude’ and our leaders decided to share a poem and write letters to local heroes to thank them for all they do.  Look out for future posts to see these lovely letters and share them with our community.

5/6M Bikeability

Despite difficult weather conditions, our children showed resilience, teamwork and respect to complete their bikeability training – well done!

Separating materials in Science

We have been investigating how to separate different materials including sieving, filtering and evaporation.  We managed to separate salt that has dissolved into water by evaporating the water.  What great scientists!
