3N Healthy Pizzas

In DT, we made our healthy pizzas, which we designed earlier in the week. We thought carefully how our pizza matched our design brief and used skills of grating, chopping and slicing.

We then explored different pizza boxes and what was included on the packaging. We used this to design our own packaging for our pizzas. Here are some examples of our designs

Year 3 First Aid

During good health week, year 3 had the opportunity to learn important skills of first aid. They learnt the recovery position, how to give CPR and also how to treat someone with a sting.

3N Netball

In netball this week, year 3 enjoyed practising chest passes and also how to pivot. They worked together to practice these netball skills and then apply it to small team games.

3N Christmas Truce

This week in history, we have continued to explore life in world war one and have considered the impact of the Christmas Truce. We watched the Sainsburys advert to help us recall some of the important events on a storyboard. Here are some example:

We then used drama to help us retell the main events.

3N Georgia O’Keefe Art

This week, we have continued to explore the work of Georgia O’Keefe by creating a poppy using oil pastels.

Here are some examples of our wonderful work

3N Rhyming Poetry

This week, we have enjoyed exploring the poem sung by the Oompa Loompas in the chocolate room. Today, we have performed the poem in small groups and we thought about suitable actions we could use.

Here are some photos from our performance

We also explored the use of rhyme in the song. We had a go at using rhyme to help us write our own poems. Here are some examples

Year 3 Harvest Church Experience

Year 3 enjoyed visiting church to learn more about Harvest. They enjoyed learning about Fairtrade and how bread is made. They thought carefully about the things which we were thankful for at this time of year and designing a basket of foods we could share with others, thinking about the role of the Foodbank. They also looked at what seeds need to grow and the importance of not being wasteful with the water we have. As part of the activities, they really enjoyed tasting some Fairtrade chocolate and different types of bread.

Here are some photos from our church experience:

3N Gymnastics

3N have been enjoying gymnastics sessions in PE. This week, they have worked together to practise different exercises to help with their tuck shapes to help our jumps.

Here are some photos:

3N Art Project

We have enjoyed exploring the painting A Regatta on the Grand Canal and we have enjoyed looking closely at the boats, which we described as decorative, royal and detailed.

Today, we zoomed in more closely to look at the decoration and the swirl patterns. We used paint and black paper to print some of the patterns.

Here are some examples of our wonderful printing and designs using pens.

3N Rainforest Art

3N have enjoyed exploring the work of Ruth Daniel’s in art. They have explored the use of tone and line and have created some wonderful final pieces. Here are some examples of our work painted using water colour.
