Year 3 Harvest Church Experience

Year 3 enjoyed visiting church to learn more about Harvest. They enjoyed learning about Fairtrade and how bread is made. They thought carefully about the things which we were thankful for at this time of year and designing a basket of foods we could share with others, thinking about the role of the Foodbank. They also looked at what seeds need to grow and the importance of not being wasteful with the water we have. As part of the activities, they really enjoyed tasting some Fairtrade chocolate and different types of bread.

Here are some photos from our church experience:

3N Gymnastics

3N have been enjoying gymnastics sessions in PE. This week, they have worked together to practise different exercises to help with their tuck shapes to help our jumps.

3N Art Project

We have enjoyed exploring the painting A Regatta on the Grand Canal and we have enjoyed looking closely at the boats, which we described as decorative, royal and detailed.

Today, we zoomed in more closely to look at the decoration and the swirl patterns. We used paint and black paper to print some of the patterns.

Here are some examples of our wonderful printing and designs using pens.

3N Rainforest Art

3N have enjoyed exploring the work of Ruth Daniel’s in art. They have explored the use of tone and line and have created some wonderful final pieces. Here are some examples of our work painted using water colour.

3N Rainforest Poetry

This week in year 3, we have been exploring different poetry. We have explored rhyming poems and haikus. Today, we wrote some wonderful haikus based on our new geography topic of rainforests. Here are some examples of our wonderful writing:

3N Self portraits

In years 3 and 4, we have been looking at Hans Holbein for our art topic this half term. Did you know he was known as the camera man of Tudor times? We even had a go at painting our very own self portraits using water colours. See our fantastic work below!

3N Brass Concert

3N have been working really hard with Mrs Tobin to play either the trumpet, euphonium or cornet.  We enjoyed learning to play, read music and understand musical vocabulary.  Today, we were really excited to share our pieces with parents and family members and we hope you all enjoyed our concert.

3N Brass Lesson

3N have been enjoying music lessons with Mrs Tobin from DPA. They have been working really hard to play their brass instruments and learn to read music. They are all excited to share the pieces they have learnt for you during a concert very soon.
