Worship Leaders participate in St.James’s Unity Service

We’re so proud of our Worship Leaders, who represented our school so well at St James’s Unity Service.  The theme was ‘Gratitude’ and our leaders decided to share a poem and write letters to local heroes to thank them for all they do.  Look out for future posts to see these lovely letters and share them with our community.

5/6M Bikeability

Despite difficult weather conditions, our children showed resilience, teamwork and respect to complete their bikeability training – well done!

Church Club – Jesus, the boy in the temple.

We have been practising the skills that Jesus had to learn such as listening and persevering in our activities today (along with a snack to keep us going as always)!

When I think of Christmas….

Well done to our amazing worship leaders for writing and leading our act of worship in church this morning! We learnt about the Christmas story through visitors, journeys, messages and presents.  Thank you for bring home the real meaning of Christmas.

Wellbeing Buddies

Our wellbeing buddies have had their final meeting of the year and have decided on a new focus for the next term which is ‘giving’.  We reflected on our successes from this term and have made some great suggestions for next term.  Well done, Buddies!
Also in the new term, our wellbeing buddies will be working with our new educational mental health practitioner, Hayley, for some training in their important role.  We will introduce Hayley officially to all children and parents in the new term – exciting times!

Separating materials in Science

We have been investigating how to separate different materials including sieving, filtering and evaporation.  We managed to separate salt that has dissolved into water by evaporating the water.  What great scientists!

Fabulous Photography in 5/6M

We had a great time exploring photography using everyday objects and some of the filtering tools on the iPads.

St Mary’s Church Christmas Tree Festival

Well done to our worship leaders for making some beautiful tree decorations for our school tree at St Mary’s Church Christmas Tree Festival. Many thanks as always to Mrs Haywood for her time and creativity and to Mrs Nichols for organising us. Take a look at our tree and many others from local organisations on 29th November 10am – 3pm and 30th November 11:30 – 3pm.

Temptation at Church Club!

Today, the children have explored temptation through drama activities, watching the marshmallow challenge and creating their own marshmallow creations.
