Every Year 5 child was presented with a certificate and their own book, generously provided by Church of the Ascension. We were filled with pride watching you perform all you had learnt to the rest of our school.

We enjoyed sharing a variety of picture books with each other and talked about how picture books can be for everyone, including some of the more sophisticated ones where the reader also becomes the author, telling their own unique story, using the pictures. We’ll continue to share these books for the next few days. The children are also welcome to bring in their own picture books to share if they wish.

The theme was ‘Gratitude’ and our leaders decided to share a poem and write letters to local heroes to thank them for all they do. Look out for future posts to see these lovely letters and share them with our community.

We learnt about the Christmas story through visitors, journeys, messages and presents. Thank you for bring home the real meaning of Christmas.
3 months ago Posted on 18th Dec 2025 by Mrs H Moore Wellbeing Buddies Our wellbeing buddies have had their final meeting of the year and have decided on a new focus for the next term which is ‘giving’. We reflected on our successes from this term and have made some great suggestions for next term. Well done, Buddies! Also in the new term, our wellbeing buddies will be working with our new educational mental health practitioner, Hayley, for some training in their important role. We will introduce Hayley officially to all children and parents in the new term – exciting times!
