We had Snow White, the Highway Rat, Little Red Riding Hood and Matilda to name a few. Well done everyone, you all looked amazing! Then it was time for the Big Book Swap. Everyone got to go home with a new book to read at bedtime. But a sneak peek first!

They were fabulous spring detectives. They spotted lots of clues that tell us that the season of spring is finally here. Take at look at what they noticed. When we returned to the classroom, the children created some beautiful snowdrop artwork using pastels.

6 months ago Posted on 23rd Feb 2026 by Mrs E Hobson An Eggciting discovery!! This afternoon Mrs York found an unusual object in our sand pit. The children thought it was an egg left by a dinosaur. They spent the afternoon researching what dinosaur might have laid it and writing posters to let everyone in the school know what has happened. We will keep a close eye on the situation and keep you all updated!

We have had an amazing time, learning all about people who help us, our emotions, how to cross the road safely, Pantosaurus, water safety, online safety and how to keep our teeth sparkling clean. Then at the end of the week the children had their personal development time where they participated in an activity of their choosing. They had a fabulous time playing with lots of them. They noticed that many of the toys were made from wood. After a lot of fun and discussion they decided that they still prefer their own toys.

We can”t wait to see your creations. The children have been working really hard this week to achieve their first rainbow targets. Please reassure them that they will receive their treat and certificate next week.

In class, Reception thought about respecting themselves, others and the environment. They popped their ideas in a magic watering can and made a respect flower grow! They enjoyed making beautiful respect badges to show their grown ups.

They have made their families and teachers very proud. Their singing was beautiful, they remembered so many words to tell the story and danced like no-one was watching! They have certainly got us all in the mood for Christmas. Well done superstars!
