Head teacher’s update

It has been a bit of a disjointed week, but as a staff, we have made the most of the time that we had in our INSET day,  thinking about behaviour in school.  Thank you to all of the parents who have contributed thoughts and ideas.  We have sought the opinions of the children, too, via our School Council and have had lots of productive conversations about behaviour in our classrooms, on our playgrounds and generally in our school.

With the warmer weather now upon us, please can children ensure that they bring a water bottle to school, with them. In addition, please could all uniform, most importantly jumpers and cardigans be labelled with your child’s name.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Collective Worship

This week, we have been celebrating David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.  We have been finding out about where his passion for conservation and wildlife came from and the significant impact that he has had on the behaviour of many.  We thought about how our own words and actions can be inspirational to others.

It was great to have so much to celebrate in praise assembly, this morning, including some incredible writing from our year 2 pupils.

School Lunches

Reminder – please don’t forget to book school lunches at least 24 hours in advance.

If a lunch has not been pre-booked for your child and they need one on the day, we may only be able to offer a sandwich rather than the full choice of menu.

Thank you.

Church Club

This week’s church club explored the story of ‘The Lost Son’ led by Father Chris. The children explored which characters they felt sorry for and also the idea that God does not treat us all the same, but treats us equally. We made welcome doors – God’s door is always welcoming.

3N Art

This week in art, we have been exploring the different layers of soil. We used different collage materials to create a collage of the different layers.

Here are some examples of our work.
