Our theme for Collective Worship, this week is our core value of Respect. Our children speak very confidently about what respect is and how we show respect for each other and our school. This week, we thought about respect for imperfections, by looking at the Japanese art of repairing pottery – kintsugi. We thought about how instead of discarding the pottery, kintsugi respects the history and the beauty of the pottery. Broken pottery is pasted back together to make something stronger and even more beautiful. We reflected on how we can also reflect and celebrate imperfections. We also thought about how for Christians, their faith can help to make them stronger.
