Homework 23.10.26- Half term

October Half Term Homework

As we reach the end of a fantastic half term, we would like to thank you for all of your continued support. The children have worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of everything they have achieved so far.

In your child’s homework folder, you will find a physical homework activity based on shape, which has been our focus in Maths this week. We hope the children enjoy applying their learning and showing you what they know about 2D and 3D shapes.

Over the holiday, we would also like the children to practise logging in to Purple Mash independently. Please encourage them to find the keys and letters on the keyboard for themselves as this is an important skill that helps build their confidence when using technology. Once logged in, children can explore the ‘My Work’ section and share any activities they have completed.

Please also take a look at our recent Geography Showcase Post. If you are looking for ideas during the holidays, you may wish to explore different areas of Birmingham to help support the children’s understanding of our local area and city.

After half term, we will begin our History learning about Birmingham, with a particular focus on Bournville (following a brief look at Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night). If your child is interested, they may enjoy finding out a little about Bournville before we return to school. If any family members have lived or worked in Bournville, please do talk to your child about their experiences. We would also love to hear from anyone with personal connections to Bournville, as first-hand stories help make our learning real and provide a wonderful insight into the area’s history and community.

Finally, we hope you all have a wonderful, restful half term break. Thank you once again for your continued support this half term. We look forward to welcoming the children back after the holidays and hearing all about their adventures.

Have a fantastic half term! 🍂🍁

Homework 11.09.26

KS1 Homework

There will be no physical homework set this week.

Instead, we would like the children to spend some time over the weekend practising their maths skills on TT Rock Stars or NumBots. Just 10-15 minutes of regular practice can make a big difference to their confidence and fluency with number facts.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you have a lovely weekend!

Many thanks,
The KS1 Team
