End of school arrangements Friday 16th May

Friday 9th May 2025

Dear Family

Re. Family Festival

We are very much looking forward to our first Family Festival event on Friday 16th May.  The event will take place straight after school, and we therefore need to make sure that all of the children are safely dismissed at the end of the day.

Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3N will dismiss from the usual doors. Please make sure that you are standing close enough to be visible to staff and that your child comes directly to you and stays with you.

Classes 4J and 4C will not be able to send older siblings round to the key stage 1 playground to meet siblings.  Please collect younger siblings first and then come round to the path area where year 4 children are usually dismissed from and collect from your child’s class teacher.  Staff will remain with the children until you are able to collect.

Year 5 and 6 will be dismissed in the usual way and if they are permitted to walk home alone, they will still be able to leave the school site, unaccompanied.  Please ensure that your child knows the arrangements, as to whether they are to come directly home or if they are permitted to stay onsite for the festival.

After school club pupils will be located in class 6M.  This will be signposted from the school office/ main school entrance and parents can collect from the outside door.

We are very grateful for your support.  If there are any issues or concerns arising, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!

Yours sincerely

Mrs L Mason – head teacher

Collective Worship

This week, we have been focusing on our school vision, in particular, what it means to flourish spiritually.  We introduced the concept of head, heart and hands when we think about spirituality:

Head – I found out about …
Heart – It made me think … it made me feel ….
Hands – so I decided to …

Our reflection this week is to consider what it means to us, as individuals, to flourish spiritually.

Collective Worship

This week, our focus in collective worship has been the core value of honesty.  We talked about the importance of being honest and accountable for actions.  However, we also thought about filtering our words as they can either uplift or destroy.  Before we speak, we have agreed that we should consider whether what we are about to say is honest, kind, necessary and timely.

Our Worship Leaders took over Thursday’s assembly and introduced this term’s focus of ‘keep learning’.  Thank you very much to the students for leading such a thought provoking assembly.
