Henry VIII visit

In years 3 and 4, we have been learning about significant British monarchs in our history topic this half term. We were lucky enough to have a visit from the brilliant King Henry VIII.

We had a fun filled day. We learnt about: how Henry VIII became king, his six wives and what happened to them, what it was like to live in the Tudor times and Tudor sports (jousting and foot wrestling).

Here are some pictures of our day:

4C Self Portraits

In years 3 and 4, we have been looking at Hans Holbein for our art topic this half term. Did you know he was known as the camera man of Tudor times? We even had a go at painting our very own self portraits using water colours. See our fantastic work below!

British Science week in 4C

This week to celebrate British Science week in 4C we joined the British Science Week 2025 – Space Live Lesson.

We had a lot of fun learning how astronauts look after their muscles and bones by doing different exercises.

We learnt about the food in space and looked at balanced diets.
Finally they spoke about how important keeping hydrated was in space and we looked at the signs of dehydration.

Water Transpiration Experiment

In year 3 and 4, we have been looking at plants as part of our science topic. We have been looking at water transpiration. We placed some white flowers in some water with food colouring. This showed us how water travels around a plant.

Year 3 and 4 Rainbow Wraps

In years 3 and 4 we have been looking at healthy eating and designed, made and evaluated our very own Rainbow Wraps. We had to use chopping and grating skills to make them.

4C Forest School

4C had a great time on our Forest School Day. We did lots of fun activities including: making log dogs, using the mud kitchen, making dens and painting.

We were very lucky and got to have a lovely hot chocolate on National Hot Chocolate Day. We really enjoyed our waffles and berries for snack too!

Tooth Decay Egg Experiment

In Years 3 and 4 we have been looking at teeth. We have been looking at what causes harm to teeth and how to look after them.

Egg shells are similar to our teeth in their structure so we put hard-boiled eggs in different liquids (water, orange juice, vinegar, cola and milk) to see what caused the most damage. Here are some pictures of our experiment:

Year 3 and 4 Trip to Dudley Canal Trust

During our Autumn term, Years 3 and 4 had the opportunity to visit Dudley Canal Trust as part of our History topic.

We learnt about life on a canal boat and the impact of industry and canals.
