Weather Warnings for 9.1.2026

Thursday 8th January 2025

Re. Amber weather warning Friday 9th January

 Dear Families

As you will no doubt be aware, there is an amber weather warning in place for our area. We are keeping a very close eye on the forecast and weather.  In order to ensure that the site is safe and that staff are safely able to make their way to school, school will not open until 10am.  School will definitely not be open until 10am and therefore there will be no Breakfast Club. This will give myself and the site team sufficient time to make an informed decision as to whether it is safe to open for pupils.  I will make the decision regarding the rest of the day, as soon as I am able, in the morning and notify you via text message and on the school website.

I wanted to communicate this so that back-up plans can be formulated, as I know how difficult it is to have to change childcare arrangements, at the last minute.

Teachers will be ensuring that children have their reading books, reading records and any required passwords when they leave school today.  Links to work will be put on the class pages on the website.

Deciding about school closure is never an easy decision.  With the weather warning being amber as opposed to Monday’s yellow warning and with predictions of above 95% heavy snow through the night, I hope that you can appreciate that this decision has been made with safety at heart.

 Kind regards

 Mrs L Mason

Key Stage 2 Choir

There will be no Key Stage 2 choir on Monday 5th January.

Key Stage 2 Carol Concert

For safety reasons and to reduce the number of people in the hall, The Key Stage 2 Carol Concert will be performed at 9:30am and 2pm on Thursday 18th December. We ask that a maximum of two adults per child attend either of the performances and please only attend ONE performance. If you wish, you may split so that one adult attends each performance. We appreciate your co-operation and support to allow everyone to experience the carol concert comfortably and safely.
