DPA Year 6 Transition Evening

Dear Parent/Carer

Dudley Performing Arts are pleased to invite you and your child to our Y6 Transition Evening, taking place on 21st May from 18:30 till 19:30 at Cable Plaza, Waterfront West, Brierley Hill. DY5 1LW.

This event is designed to support Year 6 pupils as they prepare to begin music lessons with Dudley Performing Arts at their new secondary school, helping them feel confident and at ease about the transition.

During the evening, we will provide key information from secondary schools, including:

  • The location of the music department within the school
  • Details about lesson timetables
  • Where lessons will take place
  • Names of music leads
  • An introduction to your child’s likely Dudley Performing Arts teacher

This is also a great opportunity for pupils to become familiar with what to expect and to feel excited about continuing their musical journey. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to this important and enjoyable event.

There will also be an opportunity for your child to play alongside their teachers and fellow year 6’s in an open rehearsal, which will take place immediately after the presentation. This will only be for about half an hour but will be very informal.

If you are interested, please fill out the Microsoft form (attached) and send back to me by the 30th April.

School Calendars

We do still have a small stock of our 2026 school calendar which we are now selling at just £1 each! If you would like to buy one so you can have a memento of your child’s self-portrait, please ask at the school office!

Wall Heath Village People Easter Trail

On Saturday 4th April, Wall Heath Village People will be holding an Easter Trail that will take place all over the village and include a mini farm at the Horse & Jockey.

They would love for our children to be involved by creating Easter Eggs that can be dotted around the village, fixed to railings etc. as part of the trail. The eggs need to be LARGE (the bigger the better!) and made from cardboard, paper mache or anything that will be sturdy (not just paper) They can be decorated however you would like, the theme for the Easter Trail is Fairy Tales. Please remember to put your name on your egg. We are happy to collect any eggs that you have created in school and deliver them for you.
