Year 1 and 2 have taken part in a Staying Safe on holiday with Dog, Duck and Cat in regards to Sun Safety. 1/2B talked about how they should try their best to help keep everyone safe, for question 5. Not just ourselves and those we care about, as there may be younger children playing nearby and someone will care about them! So just because they don’t know them, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t keep them safe too.

Key Messages that the children took away from the session…
- They need to respect the sun because if they don’t, they might regret it
- Anyone can get burnt by the sun, no matter what skin colour they are
- Playing in water is great fun, but we need to take care as it can be dangerous as well
- Even very shallow water can be dangerous, especially to little children
- Having skills needed to deal with difficult situations can help to keep us safe
- They should try their best to help keep themselves, and those they care about, safe
