This week in RE, Year 1 and 2 have been thinking about why celebrating, reflecting, thanking, praising, and remembering are important for Jewish people. The lesson began with a class party which helped the children to remember and recall important celebrations in their own lives and how these celebrations made them feel. The children went on to discuss how celebrating, reflecting, thanking, praising, and remembering, help Jewish people show gratitude, connect with people and traditions, and appreciate the good in their lives.
The children also explored how these ideas can support their own wellbeing. The children shared moments when they have felt thankful, praised others, or remembered special celebrations, recognising how these actions help them feel positive and connected to their community.
A thoughtful and reflective week of learning—well done, Year 1 and 2!
