Head teacher’s update
Year 6 enjoyed a visit to church this week for the Moving On programme. As always, our year 6 children represented the school brilliantly and made thoughtful observations and sensible responses. Thank you year 6 for your maturity.
This week, very much enjoyed meeting with the parents of our new reception cohort who will be joining us in September. We look forward to meeting the children at our stay and play sessions planned for later in the term.
In Praise Assembly this morning, we shared some excellent writing from 1/2 B who have written their own non-fiction texts about penguins. They were very informative and we really enjoyed reading them. It was also great to see so many children receiving Accelerated Reader certificates, too.
I have delivered our entries to Bishop Hugh’s art competition today. I am sure that you will agree that our paintings are very attractive and I hope that Bishop Hugh will agree and put them in pride of place in his office.
In line with new guidance, we have updated our PSHE policy. Please do take a look to see what your children are covering in each year group. If you have any questions or would like to view any of the resources used in these lessons, please do not hesitate to contact school.
Collective Worship
Thank you very much to Father Adam, who led our termly eucharist service. Along with singing some of our favourite hymns, we also considered the hardship that Noah endured and the perseverance that he displayed. I was very impressed by how well so many of our children could recall the story of Noah and his ark.
It was lovely to welcome members of our church and school community, to share communion together. Children were as always, very thoughtful and sensible throughout the service.
Water Bottles
Could we remind parents to please ensure their child brings a water bottle to school each day, particularly as the weather is now getting warmer. We have very limited cups available in school to give to children.
Thank you for your support.
