Head teacher’s update

We have made it to the end of a particularly hot and uncomfortable summer term!  And what an end to the term it has been.

Well done, Sunbeam.  Despite some last minute extra house points in assembly, you were the clear house point winners, for this term!

We bid a very fond farewell to our lovely year 6 pupils.  Year 6, you have been an absolute pleasure.  As well as being a lot of fun, you have worked extremely hard and achieved some really excellent results.  We are extremely proud of you and wish you all the very best in the next phase of your education.  Thank you for a really lovely leavers’ service and end to the term – I will never be able to listen to Back Street Boys without thinking of you, again!  Well done and thank you, Year 6.  Good luck for the future.

There are some staff that we will also be saying good bye and good luck to, too.  To Mrs York, Miss Cottam, Mrs Sidaway and Mrs Shipley – we wish you all the very best for your next chapters.  Thank you very much for all that you have done to support and guide our school community. You will all be very missed but we wish you every happiness with your new roles.

I wish you all a very safe, happy and wonderful summer holidays.  We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday 3rd September for lots more learning, fun and adventure.

Music Lessons with Dudley Performing Arts

Dear Parents

We are working with Dudley Performing Arts (DPA) to provide music lessons in school. Dudley Performing Arts offer high-quality instrumental tuition from specialist music teachers. Group lessons are available for just £10 per week and individual lessons for £14 per week. Lessons are offered on a wide range of instruments making it easy for every child to find something they will enjoy.

Learning an instrument is not only enjoyable and rewarding, but it also supports children’s wellbeing by building confidence, resilience and creativity. Music lessons can enhance concentration and listening skills all of which can have a positive impact on achievement across the wider curriculum. To find out more and enrol for lessons starting in September, visit the Dudley Performing Arts website:  https://www.dudley.gov.uk/things-to-do/dudley-performing-arts/information-for-parents-and-young-people/music-lessons-in-schools/

Pirate Training Day

Today our youngest swashbucklers completed their pirate training.  They collected a precious gemstone for each completed challenge – “Piratifying” themselves on a wanted poster, a pirate obstacle course with “Walk the plank” and a treasure hunt to find doubloons that add up to 5.  What a busy day and what fun we’ve had!  Captain Boots has hung up her pirate boots now and we wish her all the very best as she retires to spend time with her beautiful granddaughter.  She will most certainly be missed not just on pirate day but every day of the school year.

As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, we would like to thank all of our Year 1 and Year 2 children, their families and carers for your support, kindness, and enthusiasm throughout the year.

It has been a pleasure to watch the children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and create so many happy memories. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and all of the hard work they have put into their learning.

A heartfelt thank you for the thoughtful cards, gifts, and kind messages we have received. Your generosity and appreciation mean so much to us and are truly valued.

We hope you all have a fantastic, relaxing, and safe summer holiday and we look forward to welcoming the children back to school in September.

Have a wonderful summer, and thank you again for being part of such a special year!
