Head teacher’s update We have finally managed to have a go on the inflatable assault course! I am so grateful that it has finally stopped raining and the wind has dropped enough for us to be able to fulfil our promise to the children. It has been a lot of fun watching the children having a good go at the challenge and competing well with each other. We have really enjoyed ourselves – thank you to the HSA for funding such a fun end to our Dot focus fortnight.
Thank you to all of those who attended the HSA meeting, this week. A lot of exciting events have been planned. Some dates for your diaries for this term:
Autumn Discos – 14.10.25 further details of times and ticket purchases to follow
Christmas Discos – 18.11.25
Christmas Festival and Grotto 5.12.25
As part of our vision to Aspire for Higher, we have introduced the 5Bs to our classes. The 5Bs are strategies that children can use if they are stuck or struggling for ideas to get started: Brain, Board, Book, Buddy, Boss. It is great to see our children working with increasing independence.
Collective Worship This week, our Collective Worship focus was our school value of Thankfulness. We all thought about what we are thankful for and how gratitude can be very beneficial for our wellbeing. We thought about a talent that we are grateful for as well as things in nature and things that money can’t buy. It has been a great week of children coming and telling me things that they are grateful for.
Flu Immunisations Vaccination UK, who are commissioned by the NHS to provide child immunisations within schools, will be attending our school to deliver the Flu Nasal Spray’s or IM alternative (porcine free injection) on Tuesday 14th October. It is important that Vaccination UK receive a consent form back for every child, even if you do NOT wish for your child to receive the immunisation, there is an option to decline. Failure to complete a consent form, may result in your child missing their flu immunisation this year. We cannot guarantee that you will be contacted by our team to obtain consent. Please complete the below link to state whether you wish to consent or decline.
School Site Can we kindly ask parents and carers to avoid standing on the grassed areas around the school site when waiting to collect children please. We find, particularly at this time of year, it causes damage to the grass and can create muddy areas. We would also like to encourage children not to run across the grass. Thank you for your support.

Wild and Wonderful Forest School We began by becoming tree detectives – using autumn leaves to identify the trees around our site. 🍁🌿
In the mud kitchen, plenty of messy creations were being cooked up, while others dug deep in the mud pit in search of worms. 🪱
Teamwork was tested as the children worked together to build dens, battling against the wind to keep them standing.
Year 1 were especially fascinated by bug hunting – spotting worms, earwigs, beetles, ladybirds and snails. They even built a cosy home out of sticks for the insects to rest in.
Later, we gathered around the fire for a well-earned snack: toasted cinnamon apples with mugs of hot chocolate.
It was a day full of learning, laughter – and lots of mud!
5CS clap and stomp dancing We have been creating our own dance routines using clap and stomp phrases.
Year 6 Walk Through The Bible Walk Through The Bible
Reaching New Heights – Literally Year 1 and 2 thoroughly enjoyed concluding our Aspire for Higher launch with a fantastic afternoon of fun on the inflatables on Thursday. There were smiles all around as children bounced, climbed, and quite literally aspired for higher ! A brilliant end to a week of motivation, ambition, and joyful learning. We can’t wait to continue it throughout the academic year ahead!
3N Gymnastics 3N have been enjoying gymnastics sessions in PE. This week, they have worked together to practise different exercises to help with their tuck shapes to help our jumps.
