Head teacher’s update

Thank you so much to our reception pupils and staff for starting our week in such a spectacular way.  The performances of the Wriggly Nativity were outstanding and very much enjoyed by all who attended.

We also enjoyed Christmas jumper day, this week.  Thank you to the AIP staff who gave us such a lovely Christmas lunch.

We hope that those who were able to attend, enjoyed the Christmas Fayre, on Friday evening.  Despite the awful weather, there was a really lovely atmosphere.  The grotto was truly magical!  Thank you to our HSA who worked so hard to put the event together and raise such valuable funds for school.

We look forward to the KS1 performances on Monday and Tuesday of next week, starting at 2pm.  As the performances will end close to the end of the school day, we will not be releasing the children early at the end of performances.  Parents who attend the productions are welcome to wait in the hall until the appropriate time to collect the children.  KS2 carol concerts are also taking place next week, on Thursday at 9:30am and 2pm.  Again, children will leave school at the usual time.  We are very grateful for your support in ensuring safety by not exceeding the ticket numbers of each performance.

During the afternoon of Wednesday 17th December, we will be holding our class Christmas parties.  Children are welcome to wear their party clothes for the day.  School are providing drinks and snacks.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Key Stage 2 Carol Concert

For safety reasons and to reduce the number of people in the hall, The Key Stage 2 Carol Concert will be performed at 9:30am and 2pm on Thursday 18th December. We ask that a maximum of two adults per child attend either of the performances and please only attend ONE performance. If you wish, you may split so that one adult attends each performance. We appreciate your co-operation and support to allow everyone to experience the carol concert comfortably and safely.

Santa visits Church of the Ascension!

Huge thanks to our Home School Association, who hosted a truly magical fayre, on Friday evening.  Santa had lots of visitors who enjoyed craft activities with the elves and then a story with Mrs Clause.  There were lots of games and activities to take part in – well done to all of those who successfully identified which staff were naughty elves as children!

Thank you also to all of those who attended and supported the school.  We hope that you enjoyed your visit and are very grateful that you came out in such awful weather.

A Wriggly Nativity

Our Reception children have performed their nativity show for their special grown ups.  They have made their families and teachers very proud.  Their singing was beautiful, they remembered so many words to tell the story and danced like no-one was watching!  They have certainly got us all in the mood for Christmas.  Well done superstars!

Year 1 Visit to Our Local Church for Christmas Activities.

Last week, our Year 1 children enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at our local church, taking part in festive activities that helped them explore the true meaning of Christmas.

During their visit, the children reflected on some important themes such as joy, bravery, and welcoming. Through stories, crafts, and discussions, they considered how these values can be part of their own lives and the world around them.

The afternoon also encouraged curiosity and deep thinking. The children shared some big questions they would like to ask, such as ‘Why is it important to welcome others?’

It was a thoughtful and inspiring experience that brought learning to life in a meaningful way. A big thank you to the church community for making us feel so welcome and helping us celebrate this special season together.

3N Georgia O’Keefe Art

This week, we have continued to explore the work of Georgia O’Keefe by creating a poppy using oil pastels.

Here are some examples of our wonderful work

3N Christmas Truce

This week in history, we have continued to explore life in world war one and have considered the impact of the Christmas Truce. We watched the Sainsburys advert to help us recall some of the important events on a storyboard. Here are some example:

We then used drama to help us retell the main events.
