Head teacher’s update
Well done to all of our children who have been so sensible and helpful on such a wet and windy day!
It has been a very busy week, with children representing the school in football and gymnastics. As always, the children represented our school brilliantly – thank you to all of those who took part.
It was a privilege to be invited to lay the wreath at the Wall Heath Cenotaph, on Sunday. I was so proud to see so many of our children there in their uniforms to participate in the parade.
Staff and pupil feedback to the change to the start of the day arrangements has been positive. Please ensure that you are still supervising children in reception and years 1 to 4 into the school grounds and to the relevant doors. The prompt start to school day at 0850 provides very valuable learning time, in the classrooms. It has provided us with time to practise maths fluency as well as spellings. Your assistance with ensuring that your child is in school on time, is very much appreciated so that they do not miss this valuable learning time.
We look forward to next week, when we have non-uniform day and school discos to look forward to!
Collective Worship
Our thanks to Father Chris who led our act of worship, this week. Father Chris taught us a new hymn, which he led us in with his electric guitar. We then learnt about Joseph, The Dreamer. We thought about Joseph’s capacity to forgive his brothers and how he was able to show the value of generosity, despite having been treated so badly, by them. Father Chris asked us to reflect on the story throughout the week, and think about how we can show patience, forgiveness and generosity in our thoughts, words and actions.

Change to Morning Routine – Feedback
Following the adjustments to the start of the school day, we would like to collect parental feedback as to how you think the new system is working.
As you will be aware, children no longer line up with their class on the playground. Instead, they are able to enter the building between 8:45 and 8:50 through their assigned doors. A member of staff is available on each gate and each door to record any messages that need to be passed on.
If you are able, please follow the link or use the QR code to complete the form and provide us with your valuable feedback.
Many thanks.
Non-Uniform Day – Tuesday 18th November
Tuesday 18th November will be a non-uniform day.
Children can wear their own choice of clothes in exchange for bringing in gifts for the Christmas hampers or the tombola at the Christmas Fayre.
We are looking for items that we can use for our festive Christmas hampers or that can be used as a prize on the tombola at the Christmas fayre.
Bottles, chocolates, food items (biscuits, crackers, crisps, Christmas puddings, cakes – anything festive that can be used in our hampers) toiletries, toys and games – anything suitable that is in date and unopened.
Thank you for your continued support.

1/2B Forest School
Class 1/2B had a fantastic time at Forest School this week, embracing hands-on learning in nature. They had the opportunity to safely use a bow saw to cut their own wooden logs and used natural materials to create their very own Kindness Creatures.
Alongside this, they enjoyed den building, experimenting in the mud kitchen, exploring the mud pit, and finishing the day by toasting bread over the fire and enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Super Squirrels
This week the children got very creative with clay. They independently made little squirrels using a pine cone for a bushy tail.

Year 6 Step back in time to discover our ‘green and pleasant land’.
History
In Year 6 we have been thinking about what our local area might have looked like in the 1700s, compared to today.
The children looked at maps to identify the features which have remained in the area to the present day, and how important place names are as a clue to the past.

Remembrance Day in 4C
On Tuesday 11.11.25, we learnt all about Remembrance Day as part of our History topic on WW1. We learnt about why it is important to remember, what the poppy represents and how people mark Remembrance Day each year.
We also got to create some poppies to decorate our classroom.
Christmas Fayre
We need your help!
The H.S.A Christmas Fayre will be taking place in school On Friday 5th December from 5pm-7pm and we desperately need your help!
In order for these events to run we need volunteers to run stalls, help set up and tidy up, help serve food/drinks. If you can offer any help at all we would be very grateful to hear from you! Perhaps you can get a friend or family member to come along and help you too!!
These events are vital for raising much needed funds to help school provide the best possible experience for your child and they can only run with help from all of you!
If you can help, please either contact the school office or a member of the H.S.A – please also see the H.S.A Facebook page.
Thank you for your continued support.
