Birds that share the forest with us

1C had a wonderful first day back at Forest School today, and it felt like autumn had arrived. The focus was on birds that share the forest with us and how we can help them as the days get colder.

The children made pine cone bird feeders to hang in the trees and even had a go at building their own nests – carefully thinking about what birds might need to stay warm and safe.

Fiona told the story of Magpie and the Bird Nest, which brought lots of curious questions and thoughtful ideas. During our reflection time we imagined what kind of bird we would like to be. We had everything from colourful parrots to gentle robins and even eagles.

A lovely start to the Forest School journey Church of the Ascension Primary School Wall Heath .
