Head teacher’s update

A very well done to all of our Key Stage 1 and reception pupils for their fantastic participation in Sports Day.  It was a great day and it was brilliant to see all of our pupils taking part.  Well done, children!

Today, we were treated to a brass performance by class 4C.  They performed brilliantly and looked like true professionals.  I was blown away by their confidence.  Thank you for a great start to our day, 4C.

As we approach the end of the school year, year 6 are incredibly busy and have lots of exciting events to look forward to.  A quick reminder of the next couple of weeks commitments:

Friday 18th July Year 6 Leavers’ service in church @2pm Parents are invited – your child will be coming home with your invitation.

Reflexions at Parents’ Evening

Year 6 Forest School

Today was an action-packed Forest School session with our brilliant year 6’s, and what a day it was!

Den building was top of the list – and let’s just say, they really got into their knots…it took me a while to untangle everything at the end, but totally worth it for the creativity and teamwork on show!

The fire pit was glowing as the children helped light the fires and cooked up delicious pizza and s’mores – definitely a highlight!

We played an energetic game of shoe bingo, made colourful God’s eyes, and got delightfully messy in the mud kitchen and mud pit.

It was a day full of adventure, laughter, and muddy memories – just how Forest School should be!

This was the last session at COA, and Fiona has thanked us for being such a fantastic school to work with.

Fiona will be back working with us next year!

4C Final Art pieces

To end our Take One Picture project, 4C have combined all the skills and media they have used over the half term to produce their final pieces. Each child made their own section which was joined together to create a whole class canal.

Our First School Sports Day

Today the children in Reception and Key stage one all took part in our sports day at the field.  It was lovely to see so many of our families there to support the children and cheer them along.  Reception all took part in two races – a sprint and an obstacle race.  They loved standing on the winner’s podium and getting a shiny sticker.  Well done Reception we are so proud of you.

Sports Day KS1

Our EYFS and Key Stage 1 Sports Day was a fantastic celebration of fun, fitness, and teamwork! The children showed amazing enthusiasm and gave their best effort in a variety of activities including running races and obstacle races.

Highlights included:

  • Lots of cheering and smiles as children supported their friends.

  • Great demonstrations of sportsmanship and teamwork.

  • Many pupils improved their personal bests and showed determination.

  • Parents and staff enjoyed joining in the fun and encouraging the young athletes.

Overall, KS1 Sports Day was a wonderful event that helped promote physical activity, confidence, and school spirit among our youngest learners. We look forward to more exciting events next year!

Pirate Day

RECEPTION CHILDREN

Dear Parents/carers,

We are hoping to round off our topic with a fabulous pirate activity day.  If possible, we would like the children to come dressed as a pirate on Tuesday 15th July.

Suggestions for costumes could be:

Stripy t – shirt

Shorts

Trousers tucked into boots

Eye patch

We would prefer that accessories such as swords and hooks be left at home that day!

Many thanks

Another busy week in Years 5 & 6

Gymnastics with Josh

Continuing our art project – A Regatta on the Grand Canal in different styles of art.

Some of our Year 6s have been painting scenery and making props for our forthcoming production – can you guess what it’s about?

All this and ……we’ve even managed to harvest some vegetables!
