Head teacher’s update
Once again the weather has impacted our sports day! A very well done to our year 4,5 and 6 pupils who competed so successfully, this morning in the events that we were able to fit in before it rained. It was great to see so many of you taking part and enjoying the morning.
We have had a lovely afternoon, concluding our work on the whole school text, Scarecrows Wedding. It has been amazing to see so many creative and crafty ideas coming together to represent the story. Please visit the class pages for photos of the afternoon’s activities.
Thank you to all of those who were able to attend our HSA AGM, on Tuesday. It was lovely to be able to welcome some new members. Our sincere thanks go to Gemma and Ryan for all of their support and dedication in their roles as Chair and Treasurer – we are very grateful for all of your hard work and look forward to continuing to work with you as members of the association. Thank you also to Tash and Lee who have kindly volunteered to take up these roles for the coming school year. Thank you also to Sarah who has agreed to maintain the role of Secretary.
Well done to all of our pupils who have volunteered and been elected to represent their classes in our various pupil voice groups. Our Sports Ambassadors are working really hard to learn new sports and games to play on our playgrounds. Our School Council representatives met this week to think about our Harvest Festival Collection and have written to you separately regarding contributions.
Collective Worship
This week, we listened to the story of The Fall. We thought about how the relationship between God and people changes in Genesis 3, when Adam and Eve disobey God’s instruction. We explored the Christian value of forgiveness and talked about other places in the Bible where we think about the theme of forgiveness. The children gave some very thoughtful and insightful responses to how we can repair a relationship that has been broken or disrupted.
Arbor Log in
Can we please ask all parents to ensure they are logged into Arbor either through the Parent Portal (Arbor website) or Parent App (Arbor App).
All messages are now being sent via in-app message through Arbor, so please ensure you have push notifications enabled for the Arbor app so you can see when a new message has been sent.
School lunches, payments for trips and clubs, school shop items and OSCAR club payments are all now through Arbor as we no longer use Eduspot. Parents’ Evening bookings will also be set up on Arbor and you will be advised when these are available.
If anyone has any difficulty logging on to Arbor or using the app, please contact the school office and we will do our best to help!

A Wonderful End to Our Scarecrow’s Wedding Theme
This week, KS1 brought our Scarecrow’s Wedding learning journey to a fantastic conclusion with a special craft afternoon!
The children enjoyed getting creative as they made a variety of wedding-themed crafts inspired by the story. From designing wedding cakes and creating a variety of colourful scarecrows, the classroom was filled with excitement, imagination and teamwork.
Throughout our work on Scarecrow’s Wedding, the children have developed their reading, writing and speaking skills while engaging with a story they have thoroughly enjoyed. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they retold the story, explored the characters and shared their own creative ideas.
We are also delighted that Mrs Mason, has chosen to display some of the children’s wonderful work from this project. The children were incredibly proud to see their achievements being celebrated, and it is a lovely recognition of all their hard work and creativity.
We are so proud of everything the children have achieved during this topic. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a memorable learning journey!

Church Club
All children from Reception to Year 6 are invited to attend Church Club in school on alternate Tuesdays: we meet straight after school to 4:20pm, in the Y3/4 classroom.
Helpers from the Church of the Ascension share games, stories and craft.
If your child/ren would like to attend, please collect a permission slip from the school office and return it by 6/10/26 (this includes previous members please).
Please pick your child/ren up from the main school entrance at 4:20pm.
