Good Health Week in Year 1 and 2.

This week, children in Year 1 and Year 2 have taken part in a range of exciting activities as part of Good Health Week, exploring how to look after both their bodies and minds.

Recognising and Responding to Emotions

The children enjoyed a workshop focused on understanding different emotions. They learned how to recognise feelings in themselves and others and practised simple strategies to help them manage big emotions in a positive and healthy way.

Healthy Eating: Fruit Preparation & Smoothie Making

A highlight of the week was our hands‑on healthy eating session. The children practised safely slicing fruit and then used their ingredients to create delicious, nutritious fruit smoothies. This practical activity supported their fine motor skills and helped them understand the importance of a balanced diet.

Hand Washing Workshop with the School Nurse

We were delighted to welcome the school nurse for a special workshop on effective hand hygiene. The children learned why hand washing is so important and practised the correct technique to help keep themselves and others healthy.

Safer Internet Day 2026: Using Voice Assistants Safely

As part of Safer Internet Day 2026, Year 1 and Year 2 also discussed how to use voice assistants safely. The children talked about what these devices can do, when they should ask an adult for help, and how to make safe and responsible choices when using technology.

It has been a fantastic week full of learning, activity, and fun. We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been, and we hope they have enjoyed developing healthy habits that will support their wellbeing all year round.
